This illustration was supposed to be the album cover for
EDWARD SHARPE AND THE MAGNETIC ZEROS
but rightly enough, they went for a much more joyful image.
I still love this double portrait though. At the time I was fascinated by Octavio Ocampo’s metaphoric and religious art. And in those Bush’s belligerent years, I wanted to depict the destructive nature of Christianity.
Edward Sharpe’s messianic features were the perfect subject for such a task.
